🌿 Johanna Dominguez of Put A Plant On It shares how her passion for plants blossomed into a thriving business that brings life, culture, and community together through greenery and education.

☕ Angela Espinoza of Loud Brew Cafe talks about faith, resilience, and the mindset it takes to chase opportunities, knock on doors, and build something meaningful from the ground up.

Buffalo Latino Lens - Episode Five

In this powerful January episode of Buffalo Latino Lens, we sit down with Shirley Vazquez—mother, advocate, and author—who shares her deeply personal journey through grief after the tragic loss of her son to gun violence. Rather than allowing the pain to consume her, Shirley found pathways to healing by channeling her trauma through somatic movement and the written word.

Her book, A Letter to My Heart, is both a love letter and a lifeline—an honest reflection on loss, resilience, and the ongoing process of healing.

This episode sheds light on the often-unspoken realities of trauma and mental health in our Latino community, offering hope, understanding, and a reminder that healing, while not linear, is possible.
