Buffalo Latino Lens is a show dedicated to celebrating the vibrant Latino community in Western New York. Through compelling storytelling, we shine a light on the inspiring achievements of local businesses, visionary leaders, talented artists, and everyday heroes who enrich our city. Our mission is to amplify positive narratives, foster unity, and showcase the cultural diversity that makes Buffalo thrive. By sharing these stories, we aim to educate, empower, and connect people across all backgrounds. Join us as we explore the heart of the Latino experience—one story at a time.

One of my favorite aspects of being a documentarian is speaking to young people and capturing their experiences. El Batey is doing amazing work preserving Bomba music and Boricua culture in the diaspora here in Western New York.
I had the honor of sitting down with Mr. Santiago Masferrer at El Buen Amigo & LACA Non-Profit. At 85, his story as a former political prisoner under Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet is one of incredible resilience and inspiration.
El Buen Amigo isn’t just a fair-trade shop—it’s a living collection of stories and art from around the world. Mr. Masferrer has dedicated his life to advocating for the poor, and through El Buen Amigo, he has created a space where artisans from Latin America and beyond can sell their crafts to support themselves and their communities.
